چکیده

Abstract Adventitious root formation is the key to successful propagation of olives through cuttings. Etiolation, as an eco-friendly practice, can modulate plant’s endogenous phytohormone, which plays important role in stimulation rooting Therefore, this study was aimed investigate effect etiolation on behavior both ‘Manzanillo’ and ‘Picual’ olive cuttings (terminal sub-terminal) treated with IBA (0, 4000 ppm). The results indicated that sub-terminal cultivars were more effective than terminal they recorded increased leaves number, C/N ratio, total carbohydrates, indoles, IAA, IAA/GA phenols. Etiolation for significantly decreased percent, roots ratio; while, it GA GA/IAA. Moreover, sugars, indole/phenol ratio Terminal achieved a higher percent by 5.83% 202.2% mean seasons untreated IBA-treated cuttings, accompanied significant increase vascular bundle%, phenol, phenol/indole 21.48%, 49.2%, 44.72%, 12.9%, 22.9%, respectively. Also, lower 7.98% GA/IAA 18.21% pith 6.13% This proved plants need exposure full sunlight propagate easily since had negative effects

Relation between leaf and stem biochemical constituents and rooting ability of olive cuttings

The relationships between rooting potential with endogenous phenolic compounds, nitrogen and soluble carbohydrates of cuttings for five olive cultivars (‘Rowghani’, ‘Dusti’, ‘Tokhmekabki’, ‘Konservalia’ and ‘Amigdalolia’) were investigated. Extracts of the leaves and the base of the cuttings were used for analysis of biochemical compounds. Results showed that there were significant differences ...

Improvement of Rooting in Forsythia × intermedia Cuttings by Plant Growth Regulators

Asexual propagation through cuttings is an appropriate method used for most ornamental plants. Success in increasing the percentage of rooting, reducing root emergence and increasing proliferation efficiency depends on several factors like plant growth regulators, especially auxins. Rooting of Forsythia × intermedia is difficult and requires specific hormonal treatments and proper cultivation b...

Genetic variation in rooting ability of loblolly pine cuttings: effects of auxin and family on rooting by hypocotyl cuttings.

After about 20 days, hypocotyl cuttings from 20-day-old loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) seedlings rooted easily in the presence of the auxin indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), with roots forming directly from xylem parenchyma. In contrast, woody cuttings from 1-2-year-old hedged seedlings formed roots indirectly from callus tissue in 60-90 days, but IBA had little effect on rooting. Variation in rooti...

Effects of IAA, IBA, NAA, and GA3 on Rooting and Morphological Features of Melissa officinalis L. Stem Cuttings

This study analyzed the potential of producing Melissa officinalis L. using stem cuttings. Four different hormones (IAA, IBA, NAA, and GA3) were applied to the cuttings, with and without buds, in two doses (1000 mg/L and 5000 mg/L), and after 60 days, 10 morphological characteristics of newly generated plants were detected, and a statistical analysis was carried out. The results of the study sh...

Role and significance of total phenols during rooting of Protea cynaroides L. cuttings

Phenolic compounds, which are known to regulate root formation, are found abundantly in difficult-toroot Protea cynaroides stem cuttings. In this study, analysis of total phenol content was carried out on blanched and unblanched cuttings to observe its fluctuation throughout the entire rooting period (120 days) and establish its relationship with root formation. Results showed that blanching si...
